Free UPI QR Code Generator
A UPI QR code lets anyone in India pay you from Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM or any other UPI app. Scanning it opens the payment screen with your UPI ID and name filled in. Add an amount to request a fixed sum, or leave it blank and the payer enters it.
It is how small shops, freelancers, tutors and event organizers in India commonly accept payments. The code contains your UPI ID (VPA) and name, not your bank account number, and money moves from the payer's bank to yours over the UPI network. QRdx never handles the payment.
How to create a UPI QR code
- 1Enter your UPI ID, such as yourname@okhdfcbank or 9876543210@paytm.
- 2Enter the payee name as it appears on your bank account; payers see it before paying.
- 3Optionally set an amount in rupees and a note, such as 'Invoice 104'.
- 4Scan the code with your own UPI app to check the name and amount, cancel before paying, then download.

upi://pay?pa=shop%40okaxis&pn=Corner%20Store&am=150.00&tn=Order%2042- This follows NPCI's UPI linking specification: pa (payee address) and pn (payee name) are mandatory; am (amount) and tn (transaction note) are optional.
- Without am, the payer can type any amount, which is the usual setup for a shop counter.
- QRdx percent-encodes each value, so @ becomes %40 and spaces become %20.
- The optional cu=INR currency parameter is not added; INR is the only currency UPI supports. Merchant-only parameters (mc, tr and signatures) are not added either.
UPI QR code FAQ
Does QRdx take a fee?
No. QRdx doesn't charge for the code or touch the payment. Any charges come from your bank or payment provider.
Which apps can scan it?
UPI apps such as Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm and BHIM read the upi://pay format. A phone's camera app may also pass the link to an installed UPI app.
Can I request a fixed amount?
Yes. Fill in the amount and it is pre-filled on the payer's screen. Leave it empty for a reusable code where the payer enters the amount.
Is the payee name required?
QRdx lets you leave it out, but the NPCI specification marks pn as mandatory, so fill it in for the widest compatibility.
